Misty Bethany is Ignite Funding’s Chief Compliance Officer and Sales Manager. Ms. Bethany has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, for most of which she has specialized in the compliance and regulatory aspects of the business and is a licensed Mortgage Broker with the Nevada Mortgage Lending Division.
Ms. Bethany is dedicated to ensuring that Ignite Funding’s policies and procedures are among the most comprehensive and stringent in the industry, understanding that this groundwork is where a company’s reputation is made and is the cornerstone for its long-term success. With Misty’s background in city government and her unwavering interest in the law, it is no surprise that her career in Financial Services gravitated toward Compliance. After being named First and Second Year Top Achiever as a Financial Advisor at Ameriprise, Misty decided advising was not providing enough of a challenge and made the decision to move to an independent broker dealer, where she was eventually named Chief Compliance Officer.
Throughout her career in compliance Misty has been involved in and led various state and federal examinations, some of which occurred at the height of sweeping changes to FINRA that came of the Great Recession. Rather than shy from these sometimes, daunting regulatory exams, she dived in and relished the opportunity to learn and ever increase her knowledge of the industry, all to strengthen the company’s policies and ultimately its leadership and example in the industry.
Outside of the office, Misty combines her lifelong love of writing with her interest in motorsports by being a part of NASCAR’s Citizen Journalist Media Corp. Chances are if Misty is away from the office she is at a racecar track reporting on the event or interviewing one of the drivers.
Misty is an active supporter of various local and international charities, such as; Samaritan’s Purse, Commission to Every Nation, Salvation Army, Refuge for Women and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Misty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California Irvine, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
